A message from our fundraiser

Published January 16, 2018

Our Fundraising and Development Manager would like to share some news with you.

Here’s to 2018! I hope that yours has started brilliantly and that you had a great Christmas.

So far, 2018 has been a fantastic year for us and we’re hoping that it continues. This first bit of exciting news was that we’ve been awarded £39,000 from the Foyle Foundation – this money is specifically for improving the gallery spaces and is a big part of our You Make Exeter Phoenix target. We’ve also received over £3,000 in cash donations from our wonderful visitors (you know who you are!).

All of these things mean our target is now down to only £15,000 which is absolutely brilliant news. We’re planning to start work on our lobby area in July and everyone here is very much looking forward to our fresh new look. In August, the seating in our auditorium will be replaced so expect to be comfier than ever when autumn gets here.

If you know anyone who you think would like to donate (or if you’d like to donate again of course…!) then this can be done here >>

In other news, we’re about to start replacing the majority of our lighting with LED as well as place a whole host of solar panels on the roof of our auditorium. This will make us way more environmentally friendly by massively lowering our energy use, as well as reducing costs to help us continue providing exceptional art to everyone in this great city and beyond. These things were only possible thanks to the support of Exeter Community Energy, the Postcode Local Trust and the Naturesave Trust.

Finally, I just wanted to say thanks once again for all your support so far, and for helping to make Exeter Phoenix the best it can be – we’re so close!

With thanks and all best wishes for 2018,

Laura Cameron Long
