Luke Jeffery

Associate Artist 2016

Luke studied film at Falmouth University and since graduating has been involved in a number of film and theatre projects across the South West. He has previously written several plays, including Breathe With Me (Hall for Cornwall) and Sanctuary (Theatre Royal Plymouth), and in 2015 he co-created Granny Eyeball, a family show which received funding from Arts Council England.

In 2014 Luke wrote and directed Seeing Red, a short film set in the 1960s, as part of the Exeter Phoenix’s digital shorts scheme. The film went on to win the audience choice award at the Two Short Nights film festival and was a finalist for Shooting People’s Film of the Month competition.

Last year Luke was selected for Creative England and BFI NET.Work’s South West talent module – a scheme designed to help emerging filmmakers to get their first feature off the ground.  He is currently developing the script for his next short film, a psychological thriller about Morris dancing, which he plans to shoot later this year.
