Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny reunite with director Whit Stillman (Damsels in Distress, Metropolitan) for this deliciously sharp comedy, which brings the Jane Austen novella Lady Susan to life.

Set in the 1790s, it’s a tale of matchmaking and heartbreak as the young widow Lady Susan Vernon schemes her way through society in attempt to secure herself, and her long suffering daughter, a husband.

Despite enlisting the assistance of her old friend Alicia, two particularly handsome suitors (Xavier Samuel and Tom Bennett) complicate her orchestrations.

Stillman, surely a natural fit for Austen, is on top form here with a gloriously witty and acerbic tale of romance and realism that glides through every minute with Whit, humour and superb photography.
