One Day Workshop

Mexican Painting

In this practical workshop, we will be exploring the colourful world of traditional Mexican painting. We’ll be creating small painted portraits in gouache on card in the distinctive style of Frida Kahlo and the votive paintings that inspired her work.

Participants are asked to bring a portrait photograph of themselves, as well as four photos of people, pets or mementos that reflect your life, and a paragraph from a text or poem they are fond of.

Full guidance will be given and all materials will be provided. Suitable for all levels.

PROFESSIONAL TUTOR

Sally Pucill MA

Sally has studied traditional forms of art for some time and has specialised in particular painting processes from the southern hemisphere. She has adapted the traditional methods, using more easily accessible materials, and specialist materials will be provided.
