Two Day Workshop

Make A Monster Movie

This two day workshop will give an introduction into digital composites, green screen and stop frame animation by combining video footage of you battling a stop motion movie monster of your own creation!

Like a digital variation of the classic movie magic techniques as pioneered by Willis O Brien and Ray Harryhausen, students will create and animate their own movie monster from modelling clay and then after filming themselves in combat against a green screen – battling their imaginary foe – they will use Adobe After Effects to blend the live action footage with their animated monster to create their own monster movie scene.

Skills and techniques covered will include:

  • Clay modelling
  • Stop motion animation
  • Green screen techniques
  • After Effects compositing

This course is capped at only 6 places so advance booking is highly recommended. Suitable for those aged 10-15 years, a knowledge or animation or filmmaking is not required.

Please bring a packed lunch with you. Parents welcome to stay to help younger children and join in the fun.
