Playing with the City Sounds – Circadial Workshop

Explore making music from Exeter’s soundscape. A workshop for women led by Tanuja Amarasuriya & Tim X Atack (Sleepdogs).

Let’s make music from the sounds of a city. Come and jam with us. 

There’s so much noise in the world that we naturally tune out the tones and frequencies we don’t need to hear. Digital tech allows us to capture and play with those elements in all kinds of ways. What sort of sounds can we find when we listen to a city differently, and what kind of music can we make? 

This workshop will introduce you to a range of simple techniques and playable interfaces (including iPads and phones) to manipulate samples and make music from the city sounds of Exeter. 

This workshop would suit women who are interested in digital music. No equipment or experience necessary.
