The Academy of Music and Sound in Exeter present

Saving Lives One Gig at a Time

The Academy of Music and Sound and Exeter Phoenix are proud to be hosting a fantastic evening of local music with a global flavour on Thursday June 18th, in support of the Love, Hope, Strength Foundation.

Local bands Hazzaar! and Zuri Aura will be appearing alongside Rev Hammer, singer-song writer and composer.

Rev Hammer is of one of the country’s most influential singer-songwriters. His blend of beautifully crafted lyrics with British folk-influenced melodies makes for a captivating performance.

Hazaar! Are a raucous orkestra of klezmer mayhem. Their unique arrangements fuse traditional Eastern European tunes with funk, dub, pop, rock and jazz. Guaranteed to bring laughter, song and dance!

Zuri Aura are making a big noise on the Devon scene. Their home grown tunes bring high energy, body moving grooves and good vibes with a reggae, dub and global flavour.

All performers are donating their time in support of the Love, Hope Strength Foundation. Now firmly established as the world’s leading ‘rock and roll’ cancer foundation, the charity promotes innovative, music related outreach programmes for leukaemia and cancer sufferers, survivors and their families.

So far, the Foundation have registered over 15,000 individuals to the donor registry from audiences during gigs. Some have become donors for Leukaemia sufferers who would otherwise be denied the chance of life.

Come along for an evening of fantastic live music, to register as a donor for LHS, or to find out more about the music courses available at the Academy of Music and Sound.
