The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Dir. Yorgos Lanthimos, Ireland, UK, USA, 121 mins, 2017

Showing Times:

  • Tue 12 Dec: 7.30pm
  • Wed 13 Dec: 7.30pm

Dr. Steven Murphy (Colin Farrell) is a charismatic cardiovascular surgeon whose idyllic life with his ophthalmologist wife Anna (Nicole Kidman) and their two children, Bob and Kim. When Steven takes a fatherless teen under his wing, the boy begins insinuating himself into the family’s life in ever-more unsettling displays, threatening to shatter the Murphy family’s domestic bliss.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ follow up to The Lobster is another ambitious film, combining elements of Greek tragedy and surrealism to tell a deliciously twisted morality tale.

‘Yorgos Lanthimos is up to his old tricks in this typically strange and idiosyncratic psycho-thriller.’
