UK, 2013, 91 Mins. Dir Clio Barnard
BAFTA nominated for Outstanding British Film category
Clio Barnard’s powerful follow-up to The Arbor is an intense social realism film about thirteen year-old Arbor and his best mate Swifty. Excluded from school and outsiders in their own neighbourhood, the two boys progress from bunking-off lessons to stealing copper when influenced by local scrap merchant Kitten. Winner of the Europa Cinemas Award at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, this is a movie full of striking performances.
