Inspired early on by the turntable and a fervor for anything slightly off kilter, A La Fu carefully developed his craft working closely with the Ninja Tune and Big Dada record labels, with remix work for Coldcut, Saul Williams and Juice Aleem, touring and performing worldwide with Mike Ladd, Roots Manuva and almost all artists on the roster reaching Trans Musicales, Pukkelpop, Fabric. Brixton Academy, Sub Club and NYC’s Knitting Factory to name a few.
Amongst his more prestigious accolades, A La Fu was nominated for, and won, a new music award in 2008 from the BBC, has appeared several times on MTV and other networks, notably alongside DJ Kool Herc illustrating the art of DJ’ing, performed for Radio 1’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’ and more recently on the Mary Anne Hobbs’ Xfm show. After competing against the Scratch Perverts at the first ever DMC Team Finals, A La Fu then performed at Glastonbury at the request of the Perverts. In the last ten years, A La Fu has held various residencies around the world including Glasgow’s world famous Sub Club.
