Digital Art Commission 2010

EP Digital & Galleries are pleased to announce the selection of their annual digital art commission for 2010. This year’s selected artist is Owen Lloyd, a sound artist based in Bristol who will be using the £750 commission fee to develop ‘Building Materials’. This new work will transform the sounds, events and user movements within Exeter Phoenix into a self generating audio composition.

Owen will present his completed commission alongside other video and audio works in an exhibition in the Phoenix Gallery in November.

Visual Artists Opportunities

We currently have the following opportunities for visual artists;

Gallery333 is a dedicated space to exhibit small, contemporary art installations & interventions. It is an intimate ‘window’ gallery with dimensions of 125cm high x 74cm wide x 36cm deep, it has a secure glass door and is situated in a prime location within the building.

Café Bar Gallery

Our busy café bar offers a great platform for visual artists, based in the South West to exhibit and sell their work. The space is suitable for 2D artworks with maximum largest dimension of approx 1m. We are open to challenging and experimental work from a variety of artists and makers.

Studio Spaces

Exeter Phoenix has several studio spaces available to Devon based artists working in any artform including; visual arts, performance, digital media, film etc.

Available for periods of either 6 months or 1 year, the aim of these spaces is to enable artists to explore & develop their practice or projects in a supportive atmosphere. There is a small service charge which covers rent, electricity, internet access, lighting and heating. Incubator spaces become available on a rolling, basis and new applications are reviewed every three months.
