Work Experience

Exeter Phoenix is an exciting and vibrant place to work.  Every year we offer a select number of work experience placements.  During the placement students spend time working with each department; trying their hand at marketing, dealing with public enquiries and selling tickets on the box office, assisting our digital department with film screenings in our black box, helping to design our education projects, sorting through applications for our art gallery and getting to grips with the room schedule for the building.

In the past students have also spent time with our associate organisation Double Elephant learning what life is like at a professional printmaker’s workshop.   We cannot always guarantee that there will be a gig set-up that you can be involved in but we do promise a rich and varied experience offering students a taste of what working in an arts organisation is like.

As we receive so many applications for work experience, we offer interviews to a select number of student’s whose letters of application have stood out from the crowd.

Deadline for applications for placements Sept-Dec 2012: 7 May 2012. Interviews will be held during the June half term (4-8th June).

Deadline for applications for placements Jan-July 2013: 31 Oct 2012. Interviews will be held during the winter break.

To apply: send an email, with a letter of application to claire@exeterphoenix.org.uk

Theatre

Ignite: Exeter's Festival of Theatre

Call for submissions: an opportunity for live performers from across the region and beyond to share and celebrate their new performance work.

Ignite is a 14 day celebration from 25 June to 7 July 2012 of new live performance work from the South West and beyond. It will host events in a number of venues across the city. It is an affordable opportunity for artists, performers and companies to preview their Edinburgh shows or as a local alternative to an exciting festival experience, aiming to create a diverse and inspiring summer festival programme. We are open to proposals of any live performance including theatre, dance, comedy and live art. The four core venues can cater for many different types of performance; there has also been an expression of interest from a number of smaller, non-theatre spaces in the city.
