The Coen brothers’ latest feature, an adaptation of Pulitzer winner Cormac McCarthy’s novel, is a tough and gritty character-driven story surrounding the hunt for a stolen satchel of drug money. The humour is naturally dark, yet lacks the goofiness of previous hits like Fargo. Featuring one of the most psychotic characters in recent memory (Bardem) and lush Texan cinematography, this is a memorable and welcome return to fine form for the brothers.
