South West Animation Film Commission

Deadline: Fri 10 Nov

We are now inviting proposals for the South West Animation Commission offering the region’s filmmakers and animators the chance to win a £1000 prize to create a new animated film in 2018. 

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts in front of a live audience at Exeter’s Two Short Nights Film Festival.

We are looking for inspiring and creative proposals that demonstrate originality.

We’re recruiting new volunteer stewards, and are looking for enthusiastic people who love film and enjoy working in a customer focused environment.

Shifts are available for every cinema screening, and include collecting tickets on the door, assisting with the smooth running of Studio 74 during screenings, looking after the safety and comfort of our customers and advocating Exeter Phoenix facilities and events.

Are you are looking to gain experience in a contemporary arts environment, and immerse yourself in the Exeter art scene?

We are looking for people to assist in invigilating our main gallery on Saturday afternoons, talking to visitors, ensuring the safety of the artwork and helping collect comments.

Exhibiting Opportunity: Gallery 333

Deadline: ongoing

Gallery333 is a dedicated space to exhibit small, contemporary art installations. It is an intimate ‘window’ gallery space with a secure glass door situated in a busy location within the building. Dimensions are 125cm high x 74cm wide x 36cm deep.

Café Bar Gallery

Our busy café bar offers a great platform for visual artists based in the South West to exhibit and sell their work. Suitable for 2D artworks with max.  dimensions of approx. 1m. We are looking for a range of contemporary practice including challenging and experimental work.

Opportunity to sing with Mahogany Opera Group

Deadline: Mon 13 Nov

Mahogany Opera Group seek singers to join a specially formed community choir who will rehearse and perform as part of the Mozart vs Machine opera. The performance will be on Wed 15 Nov, with a rehearsal being held 7.30-9.30pm on Tue 14 Nov.

All genders, voices and levels of singing experience welcome.

B-Side Festival are offering a number of  opportunities to create new, temporary, site-responsive work in any media for next September’s festival.

Proposals can be for any amount up to £4000. An additional allowance of up to £760 per commission is available towards travel and accommodation.
