FILM FESTIVAL 2007
This year’s festival will showcase some of the most exciting short films from the UK and abroad. Once again, the much anticipated 2007 Phoenix Media Bursary Films will be premiered. The final programme will be available on the website in the last week in November.
FREE CINEMA 1

The Free Cinema project, which ushered in the golden age of British Cinema, is celebrated with the screening of the ground breaking Free Cinema 1, accompanied by a talk on what made this such an important film movement. Christophe Dupin, who put together the BFI’s Free Cinema retrospective, will lead the discussion. Also shown will be the D+C Free submissions from the Devon and Cornwall Film’s call for a modern take on the Free Cinema ethos.
THE CREATIVE COLLECTIVE 2007 SCREENING

Don’t miss this opportunity to get your short films seen. Films should last no longer than 10 minutes. A panel of judges will select successful applications, with films being screened in the Devon & Cornwall Film Open Screening. Premiere of the Phoenix Media 2007 Short Film and Digital Animation bursary films. Followed by the Two Short Nights award ceremony. Join us after the screening for a networking event, plus DJ, in the Café Bar.

SPECIAL AWARDS
This year Exeter Phoenix, in conjunction with Devon and Cornwall Film, will be presenting stunning original awards, designed and produced by Devon-based artist Helen Snell, including the Audience award which is open to any film shown during the festival. The winners will be announced after Friday’s Bursary Films Screening.
DIGITAL MEDIA BURSARY SHOWCASE
This year’s two Digital Media Bursary artists’ work will be showcased throughout Two Short Nights. Works created by George Lazenbleep and Ian James Wood, with support from the Phoenix Media Digital Media Bursary fund, will be screened, demonstrated and performed as part of the festival.
