Big Screen In The Park Moved From Northernhay Gardens Due To Weather Warnings

Due to weather warnings and forecasts of high wind speeds, Exeter Phoenix has taken advice to rearrange this weekend’s planned outdoor cinema event, Big Screen In The Park. Big Screen In The Park was due to take place in Northernhay Gardens from Thursday 8th – Saturday 10th August.

The screenings have been rearranged and will now take place indoors in Exeter Phoenix’s main auditorium on Thursday 8th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August.

The new schedule will be:

Thu 8 Aug: Pan’s Labyrinth | doors 7pm | film starts 8pm

Sat 10 Aug: A Star Is Born | doors 7pm | film starts 8pm

*Sun 11 Aug: The Rocky Horror Picture Show | drag queen bingo 7.30pm | film starts 8.30pm

*Please note – The Rocky Horror Picture Show has now moved from Friday to Sunday due to an existing gig taking place in the venue’s Auditorium.

The venue’s director, Patrick Cunningham has said: ‘Whilst we are disappointed not to be able to go ahead with Big Screen In The Park, we have to put customer and staff safety first. Outdoor screens are not designed to be used in the high wind conditions forecast for this weekend. We look forward to bringing the atmosphere of the park into our Auditorium, and extra activities such as Drag Queen Bingo will still take place alongside the films.’

Ticket holders have already been contacted where possible, and any tickets already bought remain valid. Ticket holders can contact the venue on boxoffice@exeterphoenix.org.uk or 01392 667080 if they have any queries.
