Exeter Contemporary Open – Call For Entries

 

An annual, open submission exhibition that presents work from some of the most exciting emerging and established artists from across the UK and beyond.

This year’s panel will include critic and curator Sacha Craddock and artist and 2006 Turner Prize nominee Mark Titchner as well as Phoenix Gallery Curator Matt Burrows.

£500 Additional Award
£200 Audience Choice Award 

Submissions are now open.

Submissions will remain open until Mon 17 Jun 2019. 

Selected artists will be announced in July.

The exhibition will run from Fri 20 Sep – Sun 10 Nov 2019.

POST ENTRY PACK AND PAYMENT

Post your entry to Exeter Contemporary Open, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter, Devon, EX4 3LS

Your complete entry pack should include:

– Your completed application form
– Payment of £20, or £15 for students (cheques payable to Exeter Phoenix Ltd).
– A short statement about you and your work (up to 500 words).
– A USB stick or CD / DVD containing up to three images of each artwork and / or moving image artworks. For further image guidelines, refer to the application guidelines above.
– A stamped, self addressed envelope if you wish to have your submission materials returned to you.

Exeter Contemporary Open 2017

The Contemporary Open last occurred in 2017 and featured twelve finalists that were whittled down from hundreds of entries. The judging panel was made up of Independent Curator Kristian Day, Founding Director of VITRINE (London/Basel) Alys Williams and Exeter Phoenix’s Gallery Curator Matt Burrows.
