Histories of the Unexpected explores the past in ways that you never dreamt possible.
It is a show that demonstrates how everything and we really mean everything has a history. We believe that the history of the itch, the history of crawling, the history of clouds, or of lightning or of zombies or zebras or holes or perfume or rubbish, all have fascinating histories of their own that can change the way that we think about the past and the present.
An unpredictable, absorbing and emotional rampage through the past, Histories of the Unexpected is presented by the famous historical adventurer Dr Sam Willis, and James Daybell, Professor extraordinaire of early-modern British History at Plymouth University.
Based on one of the worlds most popular history podcasts, the show was adapted for the stage by the award-winning playwright, Daniel Jamieson, who has adapted the works of Charles Dickens, Graham Greene and Michael Morpurgo to critical acclaim.
