Setting The Scene

Theatre Alibi Design Workshop

Come and learn how our design team set the scene for a Theatre Alibi show.

When we’re telling a story on stage, we create a whole world for the audience to see and hear. Before we begin, our set designer creates a model of the scenery, props and actors (in their costumes) that allows us to imagine all of these aspects coming to life together.

In this workshop, you’ll have the chance to create your own mini theatre set in one box! We’ll introduce you to the characters from this autumn’s show Table Mates and help you create scenes from the story or from your own imagination.

This is a practical workshop: we will be making, cutting and sticking so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a bit messy (accompanying adults join in too).

The workshop is for anyone aged 6 to 11 years, with an accompanying adult helper. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Max. 2 children per adult.

Venue: The Workshop, Exeter Phoenix
