This workshop will build on the foundations laid in the Introduction to the Meisner Technique weekend held at The Exeter Phoenix in September 2018. Previous participants will be encouraged to more deeply examine their moment-by-moment impulses, consolidating their familiarity with the practical application of the Technique. New attendees are also welcome, as the course will be structured to allow those new to the technique to gain a familiarity with Meisners repetition exercises which enable the actor to live truthfully under given circumstances.
The Meisner Technique is a series of practical exercises which train us (actors) to focus attention on our scene partner and respond impulsively moment by moment to their observed behaviour. Developed by American acting teacher Sanford Meisner in the mid-20th Century, the technique is now a widely recognised and respected approach to the actors craft.
This workshop is aimed at professional level and aspiring professional actors as well as drama students and graduates.
The course will once again be facilitated by Mark Cassidy, who trained in the Meisner Technique at The Impulse Company, London.
