Recently separated Ana and Fernando have promised to take their two children, Lucia and Manuel, to the beaches of northern Chile over a long weekend. In the back of the car, time is whiled away in playful naivety, while in the front, tensions surface. Viewed primarily from inside the family car, forced intimacy is set against a vast Chilean landscape which echoes the claustrophobic isolation of a confined adult world seen from the eyes of a child.
