Tracey Norman: Vixiana And The Demonisation Of The Witch Figure

Dartmoor legend tells that at the foot of Vixen Tor was a cave hewn from the rock and home to the witch Vixiana who lured many unknowing travellers into the mires beneath the granite rock.

Historian and author Tracey Norman, who specialises in research into historical witchcraft trials and accusations, tells the story of Vixiana and asks whether she is just another in a long list of women who have been persecuted and demonised for their knowledge, or for just being ‘other’.
