Dartmoor On Film Season

In celebration of the exhibition Dartmoor: A Wild and Wondrous Region, RAMM has teamed up with Exeter Phoenix to showcase a season of films that have been shot on or inspired by Dartmoor. Each screening will be preceded by a special introductory talk. 

War Horse

Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, War Horse begins with the truly remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all he meets around him, from British cavalry to a French farmer and his granddaughter. 

Steven Spielberg’s  soaring spectacle is an unapologetic emotional rollercoaster that wonderfully captures the rural English Landscap
