SOUTH WEST DOCUMENTARY COMMISSION: 2019

Exeter Phoenix and our partner organisation Real Stories are now inviting proposals for the South West Documentary Commission offering the region’s filmmakers and animators the chance to win a £1000 prize to create a new documentary short film in 2019.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts in front of a live audience at Exeter Phoenix’s Two Short Nights Film Festival (28 – 30 November) for the opportunity to win a package of funding and support to turn their film idea into a reality.

Exeter Phoenix and Real Stories will be looking for inspiring and creative proposals that demonstrate originality. All applications must be made via our online submission process below. The proposal should clearly demonstrate the tone, themes and strategy of your ideas.

DEADLINE

The deadline for applications is Mon 12 Nov 2018.

TIMEFRAME

Selected filmmakers will be contacted soon after this date to be invited to present a live pitch to a panel of Exeter Phoenix and Real Stories representatives. This live pitch event will take place at Two Short Nights Festival on Thu 30 Nov. The panel’s decision will be announced that evening, with the commission then awarded on this date.

Projects are to be completed by during 2019 and will be screened as part of Two Short Nights Film Festival 2019.
